NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That sealed bids will be received by Indian Hills Community College at the Ottumwa Campus Administration Building, 525 Grandview Avenue Ottumwa Iowa 52501, until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 3, 2020. The bids will be opened and read aloud in the Indian Hills Community  College Board Room (same address) at 2:00pm. The project consists of furnishing the following supplies, equipment, and/or services:

The bids are for a separate multiple prime contracts for renovation and installation of food service equipment of the food service and preparation area at the Dining Hall on the main campus. The anticipated gross area of the renovation is approximately 11,000 square feet. . Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Bidders may bid on more than on Bid Package; however combined bids will not be accepted. Award of each separate Contract shall be the lowest responsive, responsible bidder determined on the basis of a combination of the Base Bid.

A Construction Manager has been engaged for this project to serve as an advisor to the Owner and to provide assistance in administering the agreements between Owner and Contractors, according to a separate contract between Owner and Construction Manager.

Work is anticipated to commence on Friday April 3rd, 2020 and be completed by Friday August 14, 2020.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for Wednesday, February 19th, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Indian Hills Community College, Ottumwa Campus Administration Building, Board Room, 525 Grandview Avenue Ottumwa Iowa 52501.  A tour of the Food Service and Dining Hall Building will follow the pre-bid meeting.

A public hearing will be conducted at a meeting to be held at Indian Hills Community College Board Room, 525 Grandview Avenue Ottumwa, IA, at 4:00 pm, on the 10th day of February, 2020, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and the estimated cost of said project.

Plans and specifications governing the construction of the proposed work have been prepared by OPN Architects, Inc of Des Moines, Iowa.

Bidders for the Contract may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents by contacting Beeline + Blue, Des Moines, IA Ph. 515-244-1611 in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders upon depositing the sum of

General and Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing bidders may obtain a maximum of two copies of the Bidding Documents.

Circulating sets are available, for the same deposit sum, for all other sub-bidders for a maximum check-out period of four days. Circulating set deposit will be cashed and will become the property of the depositor if not returned within the four day check-out period.

Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum.

The award of the contract may be made by Indian Hills Community College to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Owner.

By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa.
