Do you like science? Are you interested in helping athletes? Do you want to stay connected to the sports you love? Yes, yes, yes - the Indian Hills Sports Medicine transfer major may be your path toward a career in sports medicine as a physical therapist, athletic trainer, physical therapist assistant, recreational therapist, personal trainer, or orthopedist.

Graduates will be prepared to transfer to a four-year college or university and pursue the Sports Medicine program of their choice or they can copmlete a Physical Therapist Assistant A.A.S. degree at Indian Hills. 

Students will learn the basics of Sports Medicine through course work and practicum experiences. Those practicum expereinces will take place in the Athletic Training Rooms here at Indian Hills. Students will be working with real athletes, alongside Certified Athletic Trainers, learning basic taping techniques and injury evaluations. They will have the opportunity to see an athlete through the entire process of injury-return to play. And our goal is to get them into the clinics and hospitals of our area sports medicine team which includes orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, physical therapists etc.
