Students can assume positions as assistant teachers or early childhood professionals in a variety of settings such as child care centers, preschools, child development homes, and public and private schools working with infants and toddlers, preschoolers or school-age children.
The Early Childhood Education Diploma program is 4 terms and starts Fall term.
Once you complete the Diploma program, 12 credits will apply directly to the Early Childhood Teacher Licensure AA Transfer major. After completing 5 more terms of coursework, you would move to a four-year institution and enter their Teacher Preparation Program. Once coursework there is complete, apply with the state’s Department of Education for licensure.
Yes, you can. However, you would need to complete the screening process if a course requires you to interact with young children.
