Note: Please be aware that there are unique pre–licensure qualifications for positions
in the education field. These qualifications include passing an extensive criminal
background check, which is completed when entering the education program and verified
prior to the capstone course of the program.
July 1, 2020: Governor Reynolds passed a bill allowing 4- year institutions to determine
if they will require students to complete the PRAXIS I CORE examination or the CBASE
assessment as part of acceptance into their Teacher Preparation Program. It is important
to check with your intended institution to gain knowledge of their acceptance policies. However,
at this time PRAXIS II is still required before licensure.
