What are the admissions requirements?
Students will need to take the Accuplacer, ACT, or SAT exams, ATI TEAS, and send in
high school and college transcripts. Another requirement is to complete a 75-hour
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course. You must be listed on the CNA registry.
You may not "test out" of the 75-hour CNA course, but you may test out if you have
already taken the course and been on the registry but let your registration lapse.
What are the steps I need to take for the admittance process?
- Fill out the Indian Hills Community College Application
- Send in all high school and college transcripts
- Take the Accuplacer exams
- Take the ATI TEAS exam and obtain a score of 60 or greater
- Complete a 75-hour CNA course
- Be listed on the CNA registry
Where are clinicals held?
Clinicals are held in our 10-county community college district. Students are placed
at clinical sites based on several factors. We try to be aware of where students
live when making clinical assignments, but sometimes must place students at a facility
further from the students' home. You can anticipate drive times of 30-90 minutes
at times – and even more during certain rotations. Clinical assignments are based
on student needs to complete the objectives of the course and the demographics of
the particular cohort of students. It may be neccesary for students to drive to clinical
sites which are further from home to fulfill the objectives of the clinical course.
