The sounds of a siren and flashing red and blue lights are your call to action! These programs are not for the faint of heart! Contrary to popular belief, we are not just ambulance drivers. These careers require a high level of dedication and a strong passion to help others. Often working in dynamic and extreme conditions, EMS professionals provide life-saving interventions to sick and injured patients. EMTs respond to a variety of incidents and bring with them the necessary equipment to begin treatment of medical and traumatic conditions while transporting patients to the hospital to receive ongoing care. We are often the first medical providers seen when people have an acute, life-threatening condition. Our education and scope of practice allows us to do a lot of amazing things, and we do it all with little thanks and little reward; but, we do it for the right reasons. If you’re up for the challenge, this will be one of the most Life.Changing. careers you will ever experience!
