University of Missouri

Founded in 1839, the University of Missouri (Mizzou) is a major, comprehensive research unviersity, and one of only 34 public U.S. universities to hold membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities. Offering 300+ degree programs, Mizzou has a diverse enrollment of 30,000 students from all 50 US states and over 100 countries. The teaching method at Mizzou, the "Missouri Method," calls for stduents to learn through research, intership, practicum, and service. Mizzou's internationally recognized programs in Business, Agriculture, Engineering, and Journalism contribute to the university's consistent top-tier rankings.

In continuing to build opportunities for students to achieve affordable pathways to a baccalaureate degree and beyond, the University of Missouri, Columbia (MU) and Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) have created a transfer pathway to provide a guaranteed admission track if the admissions requirements are met for international students who graduate from Indian Hills with an Associate of Arts degree.

Participants Benefit in the following ways:

MU will admit qualified current and prospective international IHCC students into the University who:

  • Have completed or will complete an Associate of Arts degree at IHCC with a minimum cumulative college-level GPA of 2.50 in all transferable academic coursework at IHCC. Coursework may be taken at other colleges, however, will not automatically transfer to MU and must be reviewed.
  • Meet MU’s English proficiency and Intermediate Algebra requirements at least one semester prior to the intended semester of admission;
  • Submit a complete transfer application by the applicable admission semester's deadline.
  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended.

MU will mail a letter to all international students who select this program informing them that they have been conditionally admitted to the University.

IHCC students should work directly with a Transfer Coordinator at MU in-person or by telephone at (573) 884-9609, for academic advising throughout their studies at IHCC to ensure that they are taking appropriate courses.
