Pre-Employment Transition Services

The Pre-Employment Transition Coordinator (PTC) for Indian Hills Community College works with Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services (IVRS). We work closely with students to assist in determining career goals and developing a plan of action to set the student’s future in motion.

We partner with schools, educators, students, families, and businesses to help make those next steps a shared partnership.

What is Pre-ETS?

Pre-Employment Transition Services are activities and programming opportunities for students with disabilities.  They provide an early start to job exploration.  They also assist with making decisions about post-secondary education or employment.

  • Job Exploration Counseling allows you to learn about different career options.  You also learn work skills necessary to be successful.
  • Work-Based Learning Experience connects you to real-life work activities and future career options.
  • Counseling on Opportunities gives information and guidance on postsecondary education and training opportunities.
  • Workplace Readiness Training helps develop employability skills, social skills, and independent living skills.
  • Instruction in Self-Advocacy teaches self-advocacy skills needed in education, work, and community settings.
