Welcome to the IHCC Dental Hygiene Clinic! Our dental hygiene students provide patient-centered comprehensive
dental care that implements the ADHA Standards for Clinical Practice, ensuring thorough
and attentive treatment. All care is carefully evaluated by a licensed dental hygiene
instructor to ensure quality and patient safety.
The IHCC Dental Clinic is located on our Ottumwa Main Campus. Visits are by appointment
only. Please note that the IHCC Dental Hygiene Clinic does not accept dental insurance,
and only offers preventative care. No restorative care is performed in our clinic.

Thank you for choosing our dental hygiene clinic! Please note that appointments take
longer than a typical dental visit, as students provide care under the supervision
of licensed instructors and a dentist. Each step of the cleaning process must be reviewed,
which extends appointment times. We appreciate your patience and support in training
future dental hygienists. Your participation allows us to provide quality, affordable
care while ensuring a valuable learning experience.
In some instances, it may take more than one appointment to complete the cleaning.
Appointment Availability:
- No patients are seen from end of August to late January.
- Winter Term: Open around the middle of January. 1pm appointments only, Monday-Thursday.
- Spring and Summer Terms: 8am appointments available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
1pm appointments available Monday-Friday.

- Deep dental cleaning (non-surgical periodontal therapy) (Exam, x-rays, deep cleaning,
anesthetic, adjunctive therapy, and fluoride included in price) - $100

- Athletic mouthguard- $25

Payment
We do not accept dental insurance.
We accept cash, card, and check the day of your appointment.

Location + Accessibility
The Dental Health Clinic is located on the lower level of the Rural Health Education
Center on our Ottumwa Main Campus. You can find us by entering campus from Carter
Ave or Dahlonega Rd.
The building has an elevator available for handicapped patients.
