- A group session for your academic program.
Orientation opens two weeks prior to registration for each term. You'll receive an
email letting you know how to sign up for your session, as well as a link to complete
your online orientation.

Step 2: Complete your Online Orientation

After logging in, just go to My Courses and select New Student Orientation. It usually takes about an hour to complete the online portion.
Frequently Asked Questions
If I'm switching programs, will I need to attend orientation again?
If you're a current student, you're not required to complete the online orientation
portion again.
However, if you are switching divisions or programs within your division, you'll need
to attend your new program’s academic program session or advising appointment.
There's one exception: Advanced Technology students switching within the Advanced
Technology division are not required to attend another Advanced Technology program
session.
Is there an orientation for returning students?
If you were previously an Indian Hills student at and you're coming back to complete
your degree, you won't need to complete online orientation if:
- You've IHCC attended in the past three years
- You have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 at IHCC
If you are switching divisions or programs within your division, you will need to
attend your new program’s academic program session or advising appointment. There
are two exceptions:
- Advanced Technology students switching within the Advanced Technology division are
not required to attend another Advanced Technology program session.
- If you are accepted into a Health Sciences program you have already been in and did
not complete, you are required to contact and meet with your program director to complete
orientation requirements and register for classes.
What about online-only programs?
If you are completing orientation for one of the following programs, you'll complete
only the online orientation portion:
- Healthcare Documentation Specialist
- Health Information Technology
- Health Unit Coordinator
- Medical Scribe
If you enroll in an Arts & Sciences online program, you'll also be required to complete
an academic advising appointment via Zoom. You can look for the scheduling link in
your orientation email.
Can my child attend orientation with me?
If it is absolutely necessary to bring your child, you may. However, we recommend
that you minimize distractions so you can maintain focus on the information provided.
