The Indian Hills Community College Student Senate functions as the executive body for Indian Hills students and coordinates the majority of student activities. The senate also plans and approves the student activity budget. Members preside over meetings that are held twice a month to discuss campus concerns and to plan activities. There are several student clubs and organizations on the IHCC Ottumwa campus represented in the senate.
Indian Hills Community College Student Senate exists to serve the student life experience through empowerment. We are a student organization, and we speak on behalf of our fellow students. In order to do this, we work in partnership with our student clubs, IHCC administration, the Ottumwa community, and the state legislature to set policies and to ensure that our student’s voices are heard.
Our goal for the 2022-2023 academic year is to promote awareness of the various activities being held on campus and in our community. We would like to see an increase in the number of students who participate in senate opportunities. We seek to ensure a student-centered environment and bring -forth the voices of students through administration and education.
